About The Team

The Eventing Team at the University of Georgia currently has 13 active members for the 2025–2026 academic year. This season, we are excited to host four or more clinics with upper-level professionals, both in Athens and Aiken. We are planning sessions in all three phases of eventing—dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. Riders interested in participating or auditing are encouraged to contact us for more information.

Our past and prospective clinicians include top names such as Jade Anderson, Kate Brown, Kyle Carter, Bobby Costello, Sarah Dunkerton, Emily Hamel, Sinead Halpin, Jon Holling, Leslie Law, Sandy Osborne, Doug Payne, Kristin Schmolze, Boyd and Silva Martin (The Schramms), Heather Steinman, Cindy Thaxton, Elisa Wallace, Ray and Beth Wheeler, among others.

The UGA Eventing Team is proud to be a student-led organization that emphasizes inclusivity, communication, and leadership. We are always welcoming to new members, whether you're interested in joining the team or stepping into a leadership role. Our board of advisors, made up of local professionals and university faculty, offers guidance and support, while our students manage all day-to-day operations and event planning.

Our riders are based at a variety of equestrian facilities in Athens and the surrounding areas, each offering different levels of access, amenities, and proximity to campus. For more details, including facility names and contact information, please visit the “Where We Board” section under the Team Members tab or reach out directly for personalized recommendations.

Each year, our team’s goals include hosting 4+ clinics with upper-level professionals, organizing fundraiser events, participating in at least three community service projects (in accordance with UGA Club Sports requirements), competing at multiple Intercollegiate Team Challenges throughout the region, and competing at Intercollegiate Eventing Championships! We hold team meetings approximately once a month, as well as before major events, to coordinate logistics and delegate responsibilities. Attendance is required!

Located in Athens, Georgia, our team is situated in one of the most eventing-friendly regions in the Southeast. Aiken, SC, home to venues like Stable View, Full Gallop, and Sporting Days, is less than two hours away. Other nearby competition sites include Poplar Place, FENCE, Tryon, Bouckaert Farm, and Pine Top, most of which are within a 1–2 hour drive. With events running year-round in USEA Area III, we’re fortunate to have consistent opportunities to compete and grow as riders throughout the season.
